On Monday 28 March 2016, Association for Persons with Intellectual Disability of Thailand and networks cooperated with associate networks organized fashion show “The Face of Down” as a campaign activity for 2016 World Down Syndrome Day at Siam Square One shopping mall.
Mr.Suchart Owatwannasakul, President of Association for Persons with Intellectual Disability of Thailand, made a report speech to Mr. Maitri Inthusut, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Social Development and Human Security on the opening ceremony.
The Fashion show activity “The Face of Down” was performed by people with Down Syndrome together with many celebrities including Toomtam The Star, Calisa The Face, Metal, Beam Sarunyu, Shasha Yamada, Nitinat Ratniyom, etc.
The aim of this campaign activity was to explicitly exhibit the potential of people with Down Syndrome to public that the people with Down Syndrome can be developed when provided them with opportunity and time to learn, practice skill according to individual proficiency. Additionally, moral support from family members and society would also help people with Down Syndrome live in society with happiness, well quality of life and earning by themselves.
